In his speech, during the relevant event held in Copenhagen, Mr. Mitrou analyzed the business aspect of the energy transition, focusing on the technical and operational challenges that accompany the introduction of ammonia into the maritime fuel mix.
He emphasized LR’s role in creating the technical, institutional and insurance foundations required for the safe and sustainable use of ammonia, through close cooperation with shipyards, engine manufacturers and surveyors.
At the same time, he highlighted initiatives such as the Decarb Hub, the Castor project and LR’s training programs that support the development of a reliable and scalable “green” technology.
