PortCastelló takes a new step in the modernization of its infrastructures with an investment of 600,000 euros aimed at improving the mooring and safety elements at several strategic docks in the northern basin. These improvements are part of the safety element conditioning plan that PortCastelló is carrying out throughout its premises. The installation of the new fenders will improve the protection of vessels and the dock itself against impacts, while the adaptation of the mooring elements guarantees greater reliability and durability of the port facilities.

“This is a key action that reflects the commitment of the port of Castellón to the modernization and improvement of its infrastructures, guaranteeing more favorable and optimal conditions for port operations and promoting the efficiency and safety of maritime traffic,” stated the president of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez. The actions will consist of the supply and complete installation on the dock of a 3-meter stainless steel man overboard ladder, dismantling of the existing ladder on the dock edge for straightening and repair; restoration of a bollard on the dock, supply and installation of a 100 t bollard, removal and supply and installation of an SC shield fender, as well as the supply and installation of chains on cylindrical fenders.

Transport authorizes plot for Castellón
The Governing Council of Puertos del Estado, an agency under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, has approved the free transfer by the Port Authority of Castellón to the City Council of a plot located north of the old town of Grao de Castellón called ‘Jardín del Puerto’ to promote cultural, civic, sports, and social activities for citizens in that space.
