Recently, the Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Shanghai Lingang Demonstration Base was officially inaugurated. This base is an important component of the “one set of bases” within the “Four Ones” (one mechanism, one alliance, one foundation, one set of bases) of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Center, and serves as one of the institutional carriers and functional demonstration sites for multimodal transport along the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

In recent years, to deepen cross-regional collaboration, promote cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement in logistics, and foster high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, this municipality has been jointly building the Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Center together with 10 provinces and cities along the river.

The Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Center focuses on building a service-oriented, cooperative, distributed, and open platform, promoting the coordinated resolution of important matters and key issues in the development of multimodal transport along the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and creating a comprehensive multimodal transport service system for the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

It is reported that in the future, the Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Shanghai Lingang Demonstration Base will continue to exert efforts, fully leveraging the advantages of various transport modes such as ports, waterways, railways, highways, and aviation in the Lingang New Area. It will further advance infrastructure construction, strengthen policy guidance, optimize industrial layout, develop high-end services, explore institutional innovation, and actively engage in external cooperation. The goal is to build a multimodal transport service ecosystem integrating a demonstration base exhibition hall, a modern shipping transshipment hub demonstration site, a sea-rail intermodal transport demonstration site, a vehicle ro-ro transport demonstration site, an intelligent operation demonstration site, an automated terminal demonstration site, as well as government services, finance, insurance, arbitration, crew support, and cooperation clusters—forming a “One Hall, Five Sites, Six Zones” model. This will further promote the construction of the Yangtze River Economic Belt Multimodal Transport Center, facilitate the development of multimodal transport and the reduction of costs, improvement of quality, and enhancement of efficiency in transportation and logistics, providing solid support for national strategies such as building a strong transportation country, the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
