Ørsted has now completed the round of layoffs that was announced in October, when the energy company stated that it would globally eliminate every fourth position by the end of 2027, with the first 500 of these by December of this year.

At that time, it was stated that 235 of the 500 layoffs would take place in Denmark, but according to information from Sjællandske Nyheder, this number has now been reduced to 191 out of 500.

The cost-cutting round that triggered the layoffs is a result of major difficulties in the American market, where Ørsted and other players in offshore have been hit by President Donald Trump’s aversion to offshore wind.

Ørsted will henceforth concentrate on the European market.
