The Port of Barcelona enabled a new pedestrian access to facilitate the mobility of pedestrians who daily enter or exit the port area. The new access is located at a point that allows a direct connection with metro stations.

The new entrance was complemented by the creation of two new bus stops, intended to facilitate accessibility around the new access and allow a direct connection with the metro and bus network.

The opening of the new access is part of the Port of Barcelona’s objective to promote the integration of the port area with the urban environment and to encourage the use of more sustainable mobility alternatives within the Port Community.

In this sense, the control system to allow entry only to those people with authorization was also designed to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility (PRM), personal mobility vehicles (PMV) and bicycles.

Like all other accesses to the Port of Barcelona, this one is constantly monitored by the Port Authority’s video surveillance system (CCTV), guaranteeing user safety and the protection of the facilities.
