The UK P&I Club and the TT Club, two of the largest insurers in the world of maritime transport are in talks, solid talks according to their leaders, to explore a possible merger between both insurance mutuals. They have already been working together for a few years, and their senior executives are seriously considering the economies of scale, the greater financial strength. Furthermore, this agreement would entail other advantages such as the creation of an insurance mutual that would very possibly be a leader in the maritime insurance market. All the aspects considered are apparently favorable for a possible merger, which will continue to be debated in the coming months.
