Minerva Bunkering has signed a 15-year extension of its terminal concession at Las Palmas Port in the Canary Islands, the company announced on November 26. This reinforces the corporation’s long-term commitment to the market and its continued investment in the region’s future.

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony attended by CEO Tyler Baron and Pablo Sansó, Minerva’s Head of Sales for EMEA, together with representatives from Puertos de las Palmas.

As part of the arrangement, Minerva Bunkering has signed a Letter of Intent with the Port Authority to explore the development of a new terminal aligned with the energy transition. The company did not provide further details on the timeline or specifications of the proposed facility.

In addition, the bunker supplier has expanded its operational capacity at Las Palmas with the deployment of the barge MT Mars, according to the announcement. The new asset is expected to enhance Minerva’s ability to serve customers
at the strategic bunkering hub, which serves vessels on routes between Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

“This agreement marks another step in our long-term commitment to the Canary Islands market and continued investment in its future,” the company stated.

Minerva noted that these developments will further strengthen its capability to deliver safe, efficient and competitive bunkering solutions while supporting the port’s broader growth and sustainability ambitions.
