The Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority announced that it has submitted the environmental study to the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security to initiate the integrated EIA procedure with SEA for the construction of the quayside for the outer front of the Clementino pier in the port of Ancona.
The integrated study, a document of over 700 pages, is accompanied by a significant amount of analyses and investigations required in the Mase scoping procedure, that is, the preliminary and consultative phase that defines the scope and level of detail of the information to be included in the subsequent environmental assessment reports.
All documentation will be published by Mase. This will initiate the related procedure, which involves stakeholders and also a public consultation.
“We are adding a new piece to the thorough approval process for the Clementino pier project,” said Vincenzo Garofalo, President of the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority. “A path to achieve the construction of an infrastructure that will allow the development of the cruise sector in the port of Ancona, with impacts on the growth of the economy and tourism in the city and in the Marche region.”
