Recently, taking the opportunity of the return of the two tuna longline fishing vessels “Rongye 119” and “Rongye 135” for maintenance, Zhoushan Rongyourong Ocean Fisheries Co., Ltd. has comprehensively initiated a systematic upgrade of crew living facilities. Among these, specialized desalinated water mineralization and activation equipment for fishing vessels is being piloted simultaneously, using technological innovation to practice the “people-oriented” concept and build a solid line of defense for the health protection of ocean-going crew members.
During ocean operations, freshwater supply is a core necessity. The freshwater produced by onboard desalination equipment generally suffers from issues such as poor taste and mineral deficiencies, which adversely affects the balanced health and diet of the crew. To effectively solve this long-standing industry-wide challenge, Zhoushan Rongyourong, based on the actual conditions of the fishing vessels, took the lead in installing and trialing desalinated water mineralization and activation equipment.
The new equipment boasts dual advantages of health protection and technological innovation: it can not only precisely replenish minerals required by the human body, adjusting the output water to weak alkaline quality close to natural mineral water standards, helping to protect crew bone health and metabolism; but it also uses intelligent mineralization technology to automatically adjust the mineral ratio, adapting to the raw water quality of different sea areas. Combined with low-energy consumption design and corrosion-resistant materials, this equipment can stably cope with the high-salt, high-humidity marine environment and offers advantages such as easy maintenance and low operating costs.
In addition to ensuring healthy drinking water, this upgrade also involved comprehensive renovations to living areas such as crew cabins, dining rooms, and kitchens, systematically optimizing the crew’s living environment onboard. This series of measures is both an active response to the national major strategic deployment of “developing modern ocean fishing” and a concrete manifestation of the company fulfilling its social responsibility and caring for the crew community.
