According to Shipping News, on March 31, CMB.TECH, controlled by the Saverys family, announced that it sold 12 vessels throughout 2025, generating a profit of $192.6 million. In the first quarter of 2026, it sold 8 VLCCs and 2 Capesize bulk carriers, making a profit of $269 million.
Specifically, based on follow-up reports from Shipping News, in February, it sold the “Ingrid” (built in 2012, 314,000 DWT) and the “Ilma” (built in 2012) for up to $89 million each, with delivery expected in the second quarter of 2026.
In January, CMB.TECH announced the sale of 6 VLCCs, namely the “Daishan” (built in 2007), “Hirado” (built in 2011), “Hojo” (built in 2013), “Dia” (built in 2015), “Antigone” (built in 2015), and “Aegean” (built in 2016).
In short, the buyer for these 8 VLCCs is the Korean giant Sinokor Maritime. As of now, one vessel has been delivered.
Furthermore, Bocimar, under CMB.TECH, sold two Capesize vessels built in 2009, namely the “Golden Magnum” and the “Belgravia”. These ships have been delivered to their new owners.
CMB.TECH stated, “The total profit from vessel sales in 2025 was $192.6 million. In the first quarter of 2026, the profit from vessel sales will reach approximately $269.3 million.”
Meanwhile, besides being very active in the second-hand ship market, CMB.TECH was also very active in the newbuilding market in 2025. In addition to taking delivery of 17 newbuildings, including 8 Newcastlemax bulk carriers, 1 crude oil tanker, and 1 chemical tanker, it also placed orders for 9 newbuildings, including 6 chemical tankers.
