The Port of Bristol recorded one of its busiest periods in recent years, after seeing a total of 65,534 vehicles pass through the Global Gateway in March, the highest monthly figure since 2000.

This dynamism continued during the month of April. Part of that flow was demonstrated when four car carrier vessels docked simultaneously.

The increase in activity came after the completion of parcels 41 and 42, a project that involved an investment of £4.5 million (USD 6.1 million) to provide 5,600 additional parking spaces, increasing the port’s total capacity to 110,000 vehicles.

“This milestone reflects a solid combination of teamwork, strategic investment, and operational growth. It also reinforces the Port of Bristol’s ability to support its customers and effectively manage the growing demand from the automotive sector,” stated the facility.

“An excellent example of how continuous development and collaboration between teams are helping to position the Port of Bristol for future success,” they noted at the maritime facility.
