Since mid-April, Zhoushan COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry has experienced a peak period of full-scale shell plate stripping and silicone paint coating operations across multiple vessels, successfully organizing simultaneous construction in Dock No. 1, Dock No. 2, and Dock No. 3, with a cumulative full-scale shell plate stripping area of approximately 96,000 square meters, fully demonstrating the enterprise’s ability to organize and coordinate parallel construction of multiple projects under complex working conditions.

During this construction, production tasks in each dock proceeded in an orderly and efficient manner. Dock No. 1 successively completed full-scale stripping and rust removal in areas such as the boot topping and flat bottom of the vessels “KENOSHA” and “JIK,” along with the application of silicone paint and antifouling paint; Dock No. 2 completed full-scale shell plate stripping of the entire vessel “YUAN JIN HU”; Dock No. 3 completed the full-scale stripping and coating operations for three vessels, “PHOENIX PINE,” “EASTERN ASIA,” and “EASTERN BEIJING,” scientifically customizing corresponding silicone paint and antifouling paint construction plans based on the coating technical requirements of different vessels.

During the dock-sharing operations of “PHOENIX PINE” and “EASTERN ASIA,” to ensure that the two different types of paint construction did not interfere with each other and to guarantee the high-cleanliness environment required for silicone paint application, the repair and coating work area adopted a solution of rapidly erecting physical isolation walls, effectively reducing the risk of cross-contamination and improving the first-pass yield of coating.

Facing the dual challenges of complex silicone paint processes and tight dock schedules, the work area implemented pre-construction planning, dynamically and precisely allocated ultra-high-pressure water rust removal and coating resources, and had management personnel supervise the entire process to ensure seamless工序衔接, achieving efficient control of the critical path construction cycle. In the full-scale stripping and rust removal phase, the ultra-high-pressure water rust removal process was adopted on a large scale, significantly improving pretreatment efficiency while fundamentally avoiding the dust pollution generated by traditional sandblasting operations.

This efficient practice of three-dock linkage and full-load operation not only successfully tested the enterprise’s multi-project integrated management capability and green construction level but also laid a solid foundation for tackling complex ship repair tasks.
