Recently, the Zhejiang Branch of China Classification Society (CCS) issued the first domestic type approval certificate for EGCS washwater treatment devices to Zhejiang Yongfeng Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. As the national team and main force in ship inspection, CCS has been committed to promoting high-quality development and green transformation of ships. The issuance of this certificate and the installation of the equipment on board mark a substantial breakthrough in China’s ship desulfurization wastewater treatment equipment technology, which is of great significance for assisting the green and low-carbon transformation of the shipping industry and improving the ship environmental protection supply chain.
Yongfeng Environmental Protection is a national high-tech enterprise, mainly focusing on fields such as land-based water treatment, waste gas treatment, and soil ecological restoration, and is now fully transitioning to the ship and offshore engineering sectors. Since the project commenced, surveyors from the Zhejiang Branch have proactively gone to the front line of the enterprise, providing full-process technical assistance, including optimizing designs, determining test plans, type test procedures and methods, etc., precisely overcoming key technical difficulties in type testing. With its professional technical advantages and efficient services, the Zhejiang Branch ensured the smooth completion of the first domestic type approval for the EGCS washwater treatment device, effectively promoting the development of China’s ship environmental protection equipment.
