Grupo Torres inaugurated the first phase of its new container depot in the Valencian municipality of Aldaia, a logistics infrastructure that will reach nearly 100,000 square meters once the project is completed and that reinforces the company’s operational capacity in the vicinity of the Port of Valencia.
This action is part of Grupo Torres’s growth strategy, which is advancing in the diversification of its activity beyond road transport through the incorporation of new services linked to comprehensive container management. The total planned investment, once all phases of the project are completed, stands at nearly USD 10 million.
“This is a key investment for the company’s development, which reinforces our operational capacity and allows us to continue growing within the logistics sector,” highlighted Carlos Prades, CEO of Grupo Torres.
In this first phase, already operational, the site has an area of 45,000 m2 and capacity to manage around 3,000 containers. The space is intended for the storage, inspection, repair and maintenance of maritime units, with a model that allows optimizing logistics flows and providing greater flexibility as a complement to port activity.
The project envisions, once all its phases are completed, a planned capacity to manage up to 6,000 containers and a parking area for approximately 500 heavy vehicles.
Various companies from the maritime and logistics sector operate in the depot, using the facilities for the management, inspection and maintenance of containers before their subsequent redistribution. With this activity, the site is consolidated as a strategic point within the supply chain in the vicinity of the Port of Valencia.
The center has specialized workshops, machinery for container handling and a parking area for approximately 50 industrial vehicles in this first phase.
One of the differentiating elements of the depot is its level of digitalization. Operations are managed through an integrated system with mobile devices, which allows optimizing processes, improving traceability and significantly reducing the use of paper.
Likewise, the facilities incorporate electric charging infrastructure for industrial vehicles, with a power of up to 120 kW, in line with the sector’s progressive adaptation to more sustainable solutions.
The project envisions a second phase, currently under development, which will include the expansion of the area designated for containers and the parking area, as well as the construction of new offices, with the aim of centralizing part of the company’s operations at these facilities.
With this infrastructure, Grupo Torres continues to reinforce its positioning as a comprehensive logistics operator, incorporating new capabilities that allow it to offer a more complete service adapted to market needs.
In parallel, the company is advancing its growth in the southern peninsula with the development of a new logistics space in San Roque, in the vicinity of the Bay of Algeciras. This project envisions a 30,000 m2 plot, of which a first phase of 10,000 m2 has already been activated with capacity to house around 100 trucks and five duo-trailers, in addition to having electric charging infrastructure.
