EPAustral encabezará Corporación de Puertos del Conosur en nuevo periodo

Empresa Portuaria Austral (EPAustral) will preside the Corporación de Puertos del Conosur for the new 2026–2027 term, after the organization held its 2026 annual members’ assembly, a meeting that brought together representatives of the port and tourism ecosystem in order to report on the management carried out during 2025 and elect the new board of directors. The state-owned company will be represented by its general manager, Miguel Palma Morales.

The board of directors is also composed of Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso as vice president, Empresa Portuaria Chacabuco as second vice president, Empresa Portuaria Puerto Montt as secretary of the board, and Empresa Portuaria Arica as treasurer.

During the session, the balance sheet and the 2025 Annual Report were also presented. In addition, the report on the Corporation’s participation in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2026 fair, held between April 13 and 16 in Miami, United States, was disclosed; as well as the report on the meeting recently held with the Undersecretary of Tourism, María Paz Lagos.

The new president of the corporation and general manager of Empresa Portuaria Austral, Miguel Palma Morales, highlighted that “the re-election of the port companies that make up the board reflects the continuity of the work carried out during the last year and allows us to project the strategic decisions that will mark the Corporation’s management for the 2026-2027 period.”

Palma added that “this appointment represents a sign of confidence in the contribution we can make to the country’s port development from a regional and strategic perspective. Magallanes faces significant challenges and opportunities in terms of connectivity, logistics, Antarctic development, and the growth of new industries, where there is experience and capabilities that can contribute to the joint work of the national port system.”

Likewise, the executive stated that “I am grateful for the trust placed in this election and I take on this challenge with the commitment to continue promoting collaborative work together with public and private actors in the sector, promoting public policies that help improve the competitiveness of the industry, advance in the reduction of port costs, and strengthen concrete actions that allow consolidating a more competitive national system for the cruise industry and the promotion of Chile as an international tourist destination.”

The Corporación de Puertos del Cono Sur is a non-profit organization that brings together the public port companies of Arica, Iquique, Antofagasta, Coquimbo, Valparaíso, San Antonio, Talcahuano-San Vicente, Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco, and Punta Arenas; the terminals Terminal Pacífico Sur Valparaíso (TPS), Terminal Portuario de Valparaíso S.A. (TPVSA), and Oxxean Puerto Chacabuco; in addition to the shipping agents Inchcape Shipping Services, A.J. Broom and B&M Agencia Marítima, and the tour operator DMC Chile.
