CSSC Signs Strategic Agreements with CR Group and China Merchants Group for In-depth Collaboration

On May 12, Xu Peng, Party Secretary and Chairman of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC), led a delegation to visit strategic partners in Hong Kong. The delegation held in-depth discussions with Wang Xiangming, Chairman of China Resources (Holdings) Co., Ltd., and Shi Dai, Director and General Manager of China Merchants Group Limited, focusing on jointly serving national strategies, further deepening cross-industry exchanges, and promoting high-quality and sustainable development. They also witnessed the signing of a strategic cooperation framework agreement between CSSC and China Resources Group, and a bulk oil tanker project agreement between CSSC and China Merchants Group.

Xu Peng stated that, looking towards the “15th Five-Year Plan,” CSSC is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with China Resources Group and China Merchants Group in areas such as international operations and market-oriented management. CSSC will further deepen strategic cooperation with its partners, strengthen the concept of “mutual market,” leverage its respective advantages, enhance open innovation and cross-industry exchanges, establish and improve a regular communication mechanism, and expand more pragmatic cooperation scenarios in areas such as technological innovation, industrial synergy, capital operation, and digital transformation and intelligent upgrading, jointly writing a new chapter of high-quality and sustainable development.

Wang Xiangming stated that CSSC and China Resources Group each possess unique advantages in areas such as industrial layout, technological innovation, and capital operation, with complementary resources and a solid foundation for cooperation. Looking ahead, both sides have vast potential for collaboration and hope to build upon existing cooperation to further deepen cooperation in key areas, strengthen resource synergy, amplify collaborative advantages, and establish a multi-field, multi-level, and comprehensive strategic partnership to achieve mutual benefit, win-win results, and coordinated development, jointly making new and greater contributions to serving major national strategies.

Shi Dai stated that in recent years, China Merchants Group and CSSC have continuously deepened their cooperation in areas such as shipbuilding, technology research and development, financial support, and logistics collaboration, achieving a series of successes. Currently, China Merchants Group is comprehensively advancing its “third entrepreneurial endeavor,” accelerating its transformation into a comprehensive enterprise group led by science and technology and driven by innovation. Going forward, he expressed hope that both sides will further strengthen communication and exchange, continuously innovate cooperation models, and enhance cooperation efforts. They should seek entry points and areas of cooperation based on their industrial layout and development, actively serving the overall national development strategy and continuously achieving new results on the new journey towards becoming a maritime power, a shipping power, and a manufacturing power.
