On May 9, the “Tang Hong” vessel successfully completed registration procedures and officially became registered under the port of registry “China Qianhai”. This vessel is a new type of car carrier independently designed and built by China, serving as an important transport capacity for the national export strategy of “new three” products, including new energy vehicles. This is also the first international ship registration business completed since the physical operation of the Shenzhen International Ship Registration Service Center.

It is understood that the Shenzhen International Ship Registration Service Center was established in December 2025. It is the first comprehensive ship registration service platform jointly built by central and local governments in China. Leveraging the opening-up advantages of Qianhai, it is dedicated to building a world-class ship registration service system and gathering high-end global shipping elements. Since its physical operation, the center has focused on the actual needs of international ship operations, continuously optimized government service processes, and innovatively launched three normalized service measures: implementing “certification without suspension of operations”, establishing a pre-review and pre-inspection linkage mechanism in collaboration with transportation and ship inspection departments to achieve “zero delay” in international ship operations; implementing “one-on-one” full-process assistance, building a dedicated service system for the entire process to make it more convenient for enterprises to handle affairs; and opening a green channel for key vessels, implementing dedicated counter acceptance and expedited approval to significantly improve processing efficiency.

In the next step, the Shenzhen Maritime Safety Administration will continue to deepen the reform of the international ship registration system, continuously improve the professional, international, and convenient level of services, and make every effort to attract more international ships to register in “China Qianhai”, providing solid support for the construction of Shenzhen as a global marine center city.
