Valenciaport launched a new configuration of the exit lanes at the south gate of the Port of València, with the aim of improving vehicle circulation at this point and organising exit flows according to the type of transport and operation.
This new distribution comes into operation on 15 June.
The new distribution allows a clearer differentiation between lanes intended for light vehicles, flatbed trucks, trucks with empty containers and trucks with cargo, thus facilitating smoother traffic adapted to the operational needs of each vehicle.
With this reorganisation, there are two lanes enabled for light vehicles and flatbed trucks (S1 and S8). In the case of lane S8, light vehicles use an identification control system with a port accreditation card reader, which allows the automatic raising of the barrier and, therefore, a more agile exit.
Meanwhile, there is another lane (S2) exclusively for trucks without cargo (such as empty containers, car carriers or tankers), while lane S3 is maintained for the manual exit of trucks with cargo, as before.
The automatic lanes for trucks with cargo continue to be the current four (S4, S5, S6 and S7). In this way, Valenciaport maintains the automated systems already operational for this type of traffic and reinforces the specialisation of the remaining lanes to improve the management of vehicle exits.
This action is part of the operational improvement measures promoted by Valenciaport to optimise internal mobility within the port area, facilitate the work of carriers and port users, and contribute to a more efficient management of the entrances and exits of the Port of València.
