On June 22, the fourth methanol dual-fuel container ship C16K-19, built by Dalian Shipbuilding’s DACHU Tianjin for French CMA CGM Group, successfully commenced the “conventional fuel + methanol” combined sea trial. The ship’s sea trial completeness score was 96.5 points, an increase of 5.5 points compared to the first ship. This marks the methanol dual-fuel container series ship setting sail again just five days after the successful delivery of the C16K-18 ship, indicating that DACHU Tianjin has entered a fast track of continuous delivery and efficient iteration in the batch construction of methanol dual-fuel container ships.

This sea trial will focus on verifying the compatibility, stability, and safety of the main engine and generator during dual-fuel switching, and will systematically test key items such as speed, rudder response, and emergency operations under different fuel modes.

The C16K-19 ship fully draws on the sea trial experience of the 18th ship, continuing to adopt the mature “methanol + fuel oil combined” sea trial plan. Based on summarizing data from the previous ship, it further optimizes the commissioning process and test items, striving to achieve a new breakthrough in the sea trial cycle while ensuring quality.
