In a presentation given to the Logistics Council of the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta (AIA), Mejillones Port Complex (CPM) presented the progress of the Mejillones Logistics Platform (PLM), an initiative that consists of developing an industrial condominium.

The space, as described by the general manager of CPM, Juan Alberto Ruiz, and the development manager, José Luis Noguer, is intended to house logistics, industrial, mining companies and those supporting port activity in Mejillones Bay. Likewise, both executives highlighted its main advantages, including its location and its connectivity with the region’s structuring routes, railway lines, port terminals and companies established in the area.

“If we want to accompany the growth projected by mining and other strategic industries, the Antofagasta Region must address two priority challenges: increasing port infrastructure capacity and raising the standard of logistics services. Mejillones has unique conditions to meet both challenges, and the Mejillones Logistics Platform was created with the purpose of offering enabling infrastructure to develop a modern, integrated logistics ecosystem prepared for the demands of the industry in the coming decades,” said Juan Alberto Ruiz.

For his part, the general manager of the Association of Industrialists of Antofagasta, Fernando Cortez, highlighted that “having spaces for coordination such as the AIA Logistics Council is essential to address the challenges and opportunities facing our regional logistics chain. Its relevance becomes even more significant when considering that, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics of Antofagasta, port exports from the region registered a growth of 68% in April of this year compared to the same period in 2025, driven mainly by exports from the mining industry. This scenario challenges us to continue strengthening our logistics capabilities, promoting innovation, efficiency and public-private collaboration, to respond competitively to an increasingly demanding international export demand that is strategic for the development of the Antofagasta Region and the country.”

The activity took place within the framework of the outreach actions promoted by CPM with different actors in the regional productive ecosystem, with the aim of sharing strategic initiatives, promoting spaces for collaboration that contribute to the development of enabling infrastructure for the sustainable growth of the region, and inviting companies interested in exploring opportunities in the Mejillones Logistics Platform to start conversations.
