The National Agency for Waterway Transportation (Antaq) held a public hearing to receive contributions, subsidies and suggestions on the technical and legal documents related to the lease of area VDC04, located in the Organized Port of Vila do Conde (PA). In total, 17 people registered and ten participated in the session with statements.

At the opening of the hearing, the Agency’s Director-General, Frederico Dias, highlighted the importance of social participation in improving the project: “This is the moment when we present the entire project to society, promoting transparency, in addition to gathering information that can improve the proposal,” he stated.

Frederico also emphasized the strategic relevance of the enterprise for national logistics. According to him, as one of the world’s largest agricultural producers, Brazil depends on the import of fertilizers. “This is a strategic terminal that directly contributes to reducing agribusiness logistics costs, one of the main driving forces of the Brazilian economy,” he concluded.

With an area of 39 thousand m², VDC04 will be destined for the handling and storage of solid mineral bulk, mainly fertilizers. The terminal is considered important for the logistics of the Northern Region because it is located at the exit of the Arco Norte. The project provides for a lease agreement with a term of 25 years.
