A new thermoelectric plant to be built will allow expanding the energy supply available at the Suape Industrial Port Complex. The creation of the facility, which will be called Monte Fuji, will be carried out by Ebrasil Energia, the company that won the second capacity reserve auction held by the Federal Government of Brazil in March 2026.

According to the industrial port complex, “with an installed capacity of 299 megawatts (MW) and an estimated investment of R$ 1.2 billion (USD 231.3 million), construction of the project is expected to begin in October.”

“The new plant will expand the energy supply available at the complex and strengthen the infrastructure needed to support the expansion of industrial, port and logistics activities,” they highlighted.

“Monte Fuji will be the third thermoelectric plant operating in the region, alongside Termopernambuco and Suape Energia, which reinforces the importance of Suape as one of Brazil’s main energy infrastructure platforms. Welcome, Ebrasil Energia!”, they emphasized.
