In the first four months of 2026, almost 1.8 million teu were handled (+0.2%)
Last month, freight traffic in the port of Valencia amounted to 6.24 million tonnes, with a decrease of -5.9% on April 2025, determined by the reduction in volumes in all main commodity sectors except for liquid bulk which recorded an increase of +6.5%. Solid bulk decreased (-12.4%), as did conventional goods (-0.2%) and containerized goods (-7.5%). The latter stood at 4.91 million tonnes with a container handling of 496 thousand teu (-2.5%), of which 141 thousand teu for loading (+10.2%), 146 thousand teu for unloading (+6.9%) and 213 thousand teu in transit (-14.3%).
In the first four months of 2026, the Spanish port handled a total of 23.01 million tonnes of goods, with a decrease of -4.3% compared to the same period last year. Liquid and solid bulk decreased by -2.4% and -8.5% respectively, falling to 451 thousand and 488 thousand tonnes. Conventional goods also decreased with 3.77 million tonnes (-3.4%) and containerized goods with 18.09 million tonnes (-4.7%). In terms of twenty-foot containers, containerized traffic amounted to almost 1.8 million teu (+0.2%), of which 512 thousand teu for loading (+8.7%), 521 thousand teu for unloading (+6.1%) and 781 thousand teu in transit (-7.8%).
