ΟΛΠ Α.Ε. and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoU), inaugurating a strategic collaboration aimed at promoting research, technological development, and sustainable growth in the port sector.
The collaboration aims to strengthen the interconnection between the academic community and the port industry, through joint actions in areas such as smart port technologies, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, maritime safety, and logistics. At the same time, the development of joint research projects, the exchange of know-how, as well as the support of educational and research initiatives are envisaged.
On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum, the President of ΟΛΠ Α.Ε. Mr. Han Chao stated: “Our collaboration with the National Technical University of Athens constitutes an important step towards strengthening the connection between academic knowledge and the port industry. By leveraging the scientific research and expertise of NTUA, we are creating the conditions for the development of modern solutions that will enhance the sustainable development of the Port of Piraeus.”
The Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Professor Ioannis Chatzigeorgiou, stated: “NTUA, faithful to its timeless mission of producing science with a direct impact on society and the economy, places its research and technological excellence at the service of the modernization of the country’s port infrastructure. Through this strategic collaboration with ΟΛΠ Α.Ε., we are creating the conditions for the development of innovative solutions in the fields of digital transformation, environmental sustainability, and maritime technology, contributing to the enhancement of the competitiveness of the Port of Piraeus and of Greece as an international maritime hub.”
