On August 5, the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the “Approval Reply on the Expansion Project of the Bulk Cargo Operation Line in the Logistics Operation Area of the Dedicated Railway Line in Chengxi Port Area of Jiujiang Economic Development Zone,” approving the construction of the expansion project of the bulk cargo operation line in the logistics operation area of the dedicated railway line in Chengxi Port Area of Jiujiang Economic Development Zone, with a total project investment of approximately 24.9045 million yuan.
The project is located in the Chengxi Port Area of Jiujiang Economic Development Zone, starting at the point after the turnout on the west side of the existing H5 track and ending at the existing H6 track bumper. The main construction content includes adding 1 new H5 track on the north side of the H6 track in the logistics operation area, with an effective track length of 758 meters and an effective /unloading length of 364 meters, while also partially renovating the H4 track. Supporting facilities include 1 loading system and 1 winch traction system for rapid loading, a new static track scale and video surveillance system, upgrades to train operation control and transportation dispatch command systems, a new 315 kVA box-type substation, and improvements to water supply, drainage, and other infrastructure.
This expansion project aims to fully leverage the advantages of rail-water intermodal transport, build a green and efficient transportation system, and reduce logistics costs. Upon completion, the project will further improve the collection and distribution system of Jiujiang Chengxi Port Area, alleviate the bottleneck in bulk cargo transport capacity in the port area, enhance rail-water intermodal transport efficiency, and is of great significance for optimizing the regional transportation structure, reducing social logistics costs, and helping Jiujiang build itself into an important node city in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and a regional shipping center.
