CMA CGM will increase freight rates for all cargo transported from Eastern Mediterranean ports destined for the East, Gulf and West coasts of the United States, as well as inland points connected through said terminals.
The adjustment, applicable from September 1, 2026, stipulates a surcharge of 250 dollars per 20-foot container and 500 dollars for 40-foot, 40-foot High Cube (HC) and 45-foot units.
The increase will affect all goods, with the sole exception of OOG cargo.
The geographic scope of origin includes the port terminals of Turkey, Greece and the Black Sea countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Romania and Bulgaria), the Adriatic Sea (Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro and Albania), the Eastern Mediterranean (Lebanon, Malta and Syria) and North Africa (Tunisia, Libya and Algeria).
The company specified that this tariff adjustment will be added to the prevailing basic freight rates and to other possible applicable surcharges for fuel, terminal handling (THC at origin and destination), security, contingencies and local costs.
