OLT Offshore concludes regasification auctions
FSRU Toscana has a maximum authorised regasification capacity of 3.75Bn m3 per year

Auctions for continuous regasification capacity at Italy’s OLT Offshore LNG Toscana terminal have finished

The regasification allocation is in relation to gas years from /2023 to /2033, and was finalised 10 June 2022. The capacity was offered in slots of 155,000 m3,with 34 slots allocated for each gas year from /2024 until /2027.

Overall, 83% of the authorised annual capacity was allocated for each gas year, equal to approximately 3.2Bn m3. In addition, all the available capacity for /2023, equal to 33 slots of 155,000 m3, was allocated.

OLT said the results of the auctions represent an encouraging sign for the country’s energy supply system, “Our terminal will therefore be able to continue to provide a strong contribution for gas supplies for the next decade”.

OLT Offshore LNG Toscana is controlled by Snam and Igneo Infrastructure Partners and owns and manages the FSRU Toscana terminal, moored about 22 km off the coast between Livorno and Pisa. It is connected to the Italian energy grid through a 37-km long pipeline, operated and managed by Snam, of which about 30 km is at sea, 5 km in the floodway and the remaining 2 km on dry land.

Until Q1 2022, Toscana received LNG from the United States (45%), Algeria (11%), Qatar (9%), Egypt and Nigeria (7% each), Trinidad & Tobago and Nigeria (6% each), Equatorial Guinea (4%), Cameroon and Peru (1% each).

FSRU Toscana has a maximum authorised regasification capacity of 3.75Bn m3 per year, about 5% of the national gas requirement.
