The deal adds 38 offshore support vessels to the fleet controlled by ADNOC L&S
ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S), the shipping and maritime logistics arm of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), is to take over Zakher Marine International (ZMI), an Abu Dhabi-based owner and operator of offshore support vessels as well as the world’s largest fleet of self-propelled jack-up barges.
Upon completion of the transaction, which is subject to the usual regulatory approvals, ADNOC L&S will add 38 offshore support vessels from ZMI to its fleet as well as 24 jack-ups, strengthening its ability to support offshore operations, and creating opportunities for further expansion.
ZMI, which will continue operating as a standalone entity under ADNOC L&S with Ali Hassan El Ali as chief executive, has operations in the UAE, KSA, Qatar and China. The company has long-term contracts with a blue-chip customer base and has recently entered the offshore wind farm market in China, further diversifying its market exposure.
