In March, international shipping provider AEC Parcel Service revamped its shipping business in order to get aid to Ukrainians as fast and as inexpensively as possible. “Our logistics infrastructure happens to be built to assist in this situation, even though that’s not why we started AEC Parcel 10-years ago,” said co-owners Tadas and Matas Vilimas.
In non-conflict times, AEC Parcel Service – with HQ in Chicago in addition to several N. America warehouses including the UK – specializes in shipping consumer packages to Eastern Europe. Today, AEC Parcel ships thousands of pounds of medical supplies, military gear, food, and aid to Ukraine and refugee countries. AND, they are doing it at greatly reduced rates.
“At the beginning of March, we shipped small consumer parcels – now we’re transporting thousands of pounds of water treatment equipment and $5M worth of weapons,” added Tadas.
