A vessel will be upgraded and investments will be made to automate processes following an contract extension for well intervention services in Norway
Aker BP has extended its alliance with SLB and Stimwell Services for well intervention and stimulation services across its portfolio of oil and gas fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for another five years to further accelerate hydrocarbon production.
This agreement, signed by all three companies at Aker BP’s headquarters at Fornebu, Norway on 2 April, has stimulated investment in a dedicated well intervention vessel and autonomous technologies.Under the renewed agreement, this alliance has set new benchmarks for safe, efficient and cost-effective operations.
SLB and Stimwell Services will continue to support Aker BP’s operated assets in meeting production targets, as it has done since 2019, playing a key role in putting wells on stream across Aker BP’s field development projects.
An upgraded stimulation vessel will be used to optimise the new Valhall PWP wells, contributing significantly to future production from one of Norway’s oldest and mature fields.
