Alarm was raised among German authorities after the collision of a tanker with a supply vessel on the Elbe River, causing a fuel spill in the port of Cuxhaven.

Alarm was raised for German authorities following the collision of the German-flagged tanker Capella, which collided with the Netherlands-flagged offshore supply vessel Coastal Legend.

According to reports, the collision caused a tear in the fuel tank of the Coastal Legend, resulting in a fuel spill into the Elbe River.

The incident occurred near Cuxhaven, Germany, on the Elbe River. The Capella was reportedly entering the port of Cuxhaven when it collided with the berthed Coastal Legend.

Although exact details on the damage to the vessels have not been published, reports indicate that the Coastal Legend sustained hull damage, specifically a tear in its fuel tank.

Authorities reported that approximately six cubic meters of fuel leaked into the port of Cuxhaven. Another tanker, the Herta, arrived at the accident site and pumped out the remaining oil from the Coastal Legend.

Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
