The president of the Almería Port Authority, Rosario Soto, and the mayor of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez, have visited the urbanization works for the entrance to the Muelle de Levante and the adjacent esplanade in Ribera I up to the edge of this dock, the first two hectares of the port-city urban integration, which the port of Almería will open this Christmas. Pending the entrance area to the Muelle de Levante that borders the mouth of Reina Regente, the urbanization of the first hectare surrounding the headquarters of the Port Authority has already been completed.
“The commitment to materials from Almería, especially from the marble region, is noteworthy, combining natural local materials and innovative surfaces such as white marble from Macael, travertine from Almería, and granite and dekton,” the president of Almería, Rosario Soto, wanted to highlight. In parallel, work is also progressing on the hectare of the pre-boarding area in Ribera I, which is being freed up for multi-purpose use intended for port-city initiatives and passenger services.
The city mayor has positively assessed the progress of the works and the coordination between the port and the Almería City Council, which will adapt the pedestrian crossing of the Nicolás Salmerón Park to the new port area opened to citizens this Christmas, to improve its access, as a first part of the municipal works for the port-city connection.
