Capital Ship Management has taken delivery of the newbuilding Amore Mio, a VLCC that is fitted with a scrubber and fitted out to be ammonia and LNG ready.
The vessel was built by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in South Korea. It is the first of two sister ships to be delivered in 2022.

The vessels are Tier III compliant for reduced NOx emissions, assigned ABS ENVIRO notation as well as ABS Ammonia Fuel Ready and LNG Fuel Ready Notations and equipped with IHM notation for safe recycling, thus becoming two of the most environmentally friendly, technologically advanced and efficient vessels in the global VLCC fleet.
Capital Ship Management currently operates a fleet of 37 tankers (12 VLCCs, 13 Aframaxes, 11 MR/Handy product tankers and one small tanker) with a total dwt of 5.72 million tons approx. The company is working with Lloyd’s Register to trial the use of biofuels on its managed VLCC Apollonas.
