Antonini Group S.p.A. announces the award of the Irena 3 Epc project by the Oil & Gas Company Edina, a joint venture composed of Edison Gas and Ina, a major Croatian entity.
The project, which sees the Antonini Group in the important role of lead contractor, has a contract value of approximately 23 million and involves two other companies in a consortium.
The particularity of the contract, explains Antonini Navi, is the construction of a completely green plant: the energy required for the platform’s operation will in fact be guaranteed by photovoltaic panels and the management of the entire system will be automated and controlled remotely via a Distributed Control System developed by the consortium that allows users to monitor process parameters entirely remotely.
The assignment includes the supply of materials, engineering, construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning, marine transport, and offshore hook-up of a platform consisting of a jacket, foundation piles, and topside, for a total weight of approximately 800 tonnes, thus constituting a complete project management.
The construction holds significant strategic importance, as it represents the first of eight offshore projects planned in the North Adriatic, destined to contribute to the increase in production of the Ivana gas field. The new platform will be installed at a depth of approximately 35 meters and connected, via a sealine, to the Izabela North platform, which will be appropriately modified to receive the gas from Irena 3.
The award of this project comes in a particularly favorable year for the Antonini Group, following the positive performance of 2024. The acquired contracts, including significant projects in Libya and the North Adriatic, “consolidate the Group’s position in international markets and its ability to establish itself as a reliable partner for clients and stakeholders,” concludes the note.
