APM Terminals Chief Executive, Asia and Middle East, Jonathan R. Goldner
As it celebrates 20 years of operations, Gateway Terminals India (GTI), also known as APM Terminals Mumbai, will continue to strive to be the country’s most efficient, reliable, and safe operator, according to APM Terminals Chief Executive Asia and Middle East, Jonathan R. Goldner.
Attending celebrations to mark the anniversary in Mumbai, where he was joined by Shri Unmesh Sharad Wagh, Chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Nabil Taouati, as well as Shri Rajiv Jalota, Chairman of the Indian Port Association, and others, Goldner said that operating a concession in any country is “a huge responsibility, and one we take very seriously at APM Terminals.”
Speaking on behalf of A.P. Moller – Maersk, he said that he, and the entire group,were “humbled and grateful” to be part of the “amazing” logistics story in Mumbai and the region as a whole. As well as expressing pride in GTI’s position as the most efficient terminal in the port, Goldner said he was particularly proud of the terminal’s lasting positive impact on the communities in which it plays a vital role.
Appropriately, APM Terminals Mumbai hit a new record in its 20-year anniversary month. The terminal handled its highest-ever monthly throughput of 192,139 TEU in August. This volume was handled on just 47 vessel calls making an average transfer of 4088 TEU. The company says this was “testament to extensive planning, unmatched productivity, and most importantly, incredible work by the talented team at GTI.”
