The president of the Santos Port Authority (APS), Anderson Pomini, presented, at the headquarters of the Port of ItajaĆ, a balance of the first three quarters of management, assumed on January 1, 2025, after the end of the transfer of the Port to the municipality. On that occasion, the entity projected that USD 158.8 million (R$ 844 million) will be invested in the maritime area.

A key point is the removal of the remains of the ship Pallas with an estimated cost of USD 12.8 million. APS plans to conduct assessment dives next month and complete the removal of the submerged hull in the first half of 2026. Negotiations are already underway with the National Institute of Historical and Artistic Heritage (Iphan) for the archaeological recovery of the ship.

Similarly, Pomini also presented the other works in progress, such as the re-adaptation of the North (Navegantes) and South (ItajaĆ) piers to increase the safety and maneuverability of vessels; the VTMIS system as a water traffic monitoring technology with an investment of USD 12.2 million; and USD 3.8 million to adapt substations and lighting, enabling safer night operations.

Additionally, the densification and expansion of the customs area by another 60,000 square meters is being considered, along with new scanners (USD 2.3 million) and gate modernization (USD 0.56 million); an integrated road system for real-time truck monitoring, reducing logistical bottlenecks and urban impact; the implementation of SmartPort for USD 5.6 million to feature smart cameras and integrated security monitoring.

On the other hand, the Cruise Terminal project contemplates USD 56.5 million with a Master Plan scheduled for February 2026, which aims to consolidate ItajaĆ as a hub for maritime tourism.

Another point to highlight is its financial performance, which in the first half of the year has already surpassed the total revenues of the previous year. In ISS alone, the port has already generated USD 0.45 million for the municipality.
