Armona deploys smart fleet digital applications on product tankers

Must read

A Turkish owner and manager of product tankers is adopting digitalisation services for voyage optimisation and engine health monitoring

Armona Ship Management is set to adopt integrated digital services to improve performance monitoring on tankers.

It will deploy smart applications for voyage planning and route optimisation, engine health management and to reduce fuel consumption and emissions across the fleet.

“Digital integration will provide us with a deeper understanding of vessel performance and the ability to make faster, data-driven decisions,” said Armona Ship Management chief technical officer Farbod Assadpour.

Armona, which is part of Atlantis Tankers Group, will use OneLink’s performance suite of software across its fleet of eight product and chemical tankers for data-led performance management and at itsremote monitoring centres in Cyprus, India and the Philippines.

Armona will deploy OneLink’s Routelink to enhance route planning and voyage optimisation to increase operational efficiency, safety and to lower fuel consumption and emissions.

The Turkish shipmanagement company will use Enginelink to gather insights into engine health and vessel performance by monitoring cylinder condition, scavenge space and fuel injection quality; will use intelligent diagnostics to identify issues; and will use performance analytics from this real-time data stream for predictive maintenance of onboard machinery to minimise vessel downtime.

“This partnership with OneLink supports our vision of a smarter, more connected fleet,” said Capt Assadpour.

OneLink’s team is overseeing the implementation and training.

Atlantis owns eight product and chemical tankers built from 2005 to 2017, ranging from 3,500 dwt to 6,020 dwt.
