The ambassador was welcomed by the president of the NEE, Giorgos Alexandratos, the members of the board of directors, Nikos Vernikos, Giorgos Tsakonas and Giannis Trifyllis, as well as executives of the Chamber.
Also present were representatives of WIMA and HEMEXPO. During the meeting, the historically close shipping relations between Greece and Japan were highlighted, with special reference to the high technology and quality of the Asian country’s shipyards, which, however, face increased competition from China and S. Korea.
The prospects for cooperation in the field of yachting, attracting Japanese visitors, as well as the development of educational and cultural exchanges were discussed.
