General cargo ship Azov
Concord (IMO 9387748), which had been trapped in the Ukrainian Sea of Azov
port Mariupol since February, has been allowed to leave by the occupying
Russian forces.
Its departure followed negotiations between Turkey and
Russia, which may ultimately lead to the creation of a safe corridor for the
export of Ukrainian grain with entailing the demining of the Black Sea, because
the position of extant mines is already known, Odessa-based Eurogal added. Azov
Concord arrived in Mariupol on February 21. Its automatic identification system
was turned off on June 9th, according to Lloyd’s List Intelligence vessel tracking
data. It reappeared just north of the Kerch Strait on June 24th the day before
its arrival at Novorossiysk. It set sail on June 26th and was due to arrive at
Zonguldak, Turkey.
Eurogal says the five foreign-flagged vessels still
blocked at Mariupol are Blue Star 1 (IMO
9375159), Azburg (IMO 9102899), Lady Augusta (IMO 9163568), Tzarevna (IMO: 9145231) and Smart (IMO 8943428?).
(This might not be the same “Smart”, as the one
listed here is currently recorded as being “aground” at the port of
Azov rather than stranded in Mariupol. However, no other IMO-listed vessel of
that name seems at all likely.)
Also, the Azburg had previously been reported as sunk at
Mariupol.
2008-built, Malta-flagged, 6,483 gt Azov Concord is owned
by Ulusmarine Co Ltd care of manager Albros Shipping & Trading Co of
Istanbul, Turkey. As of July 3rd it was entered with West of England (Eastern
Claims Team) on behalf of Azov Concord Shipping Co.
2004-built, Malta-flagged, 13,965 gt Tzarevna is owned by
Vulcania Srl care of Argo Shipping Co, Varna, Bulgaria. It is managed by
Naviborn Ltd of Varna, Bulgaria. As of June 23rd it was entered with Thomas
Miller Specialty on behalf of Naviborn Ltd.
2005-built, Panama-flagged, 3,254 gt Blue Star I is owned
by Blue Star Marine Co Ltd care of manager Fetida Maritime Ltd of Odesa,
Ukraine. N AIS since February 26th, when it was listed as being at Mariupol.
1995-built, Dominica-flagged, 6,142 gt Azburg is owned
and managed by MSCO Global Ltd of Valletta, Malta. ISM manager is Denprtrans PC
of Kherson, Ukraine. No AIS since February 26th, when it was recorded as being
at Mariupol.
1998-built, Jamaica-flagged, 4,355 gt Lady Augusta (previously
Belize-flagged Lady Siria) is owned and managed by Adriamediteran Ltd of
Tripoli, Lebanon. It is entered with British Marine on behalf of Adriamediteran
Ltd.
1987-built, Russia-flagged, 2,597 gt Smart is owned by
Delta Streamline Ltd care of Blue Wave Shipping Inc-Rus of Huntingdon Valley,
PA, USA. ISM manager is Blue Wave Shipping Ltd-Rus of Azov, Russia. It is
entered with VSK Insurance Co.
