The ports of Bayonne and Pasaia wish to formalize and consolidate their cross-border cooperation through a protocol of agreement, which is expected to be signed during the month of November, to establish an alliance aimed at promoting sustainability and innovation in maritime transport. A delegation from the Gipuzkoan port visited the facilities of Bayonne to officialize this agreement. Present were Izaskun Goñi, president of Pasaia and Pascal Marty, president of the Bayonne Port Society.

“With the port of Pasaia, we are initiating a phase of stable and structured collaboration for the benefit of the regional economy and greener logistics,” highlighted Marty. For her part, the president of the Port Authority of Pasaia, Izaskun Goñi, emphasized that “the will to cooperate is shared between two ports that face the same challenges and share the same values: sustainability, innovation, and service to the territory.” Both ports are part of the Atlantic Corridor of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and share a strong industrial, intermodal, and cross-border vocation.
