Bolk Transport has made an investment in Uddevalla Specialtransporter, acquiring 50 percent of the Swedish company, strengthening foothold in the wind energy. The deal was closed last week with the two companies aiming to work closely on wind projects in Scandinavia and make use of each other’s equipment, knowledge and personnel.
Both companies are active in very similar markets and share their way of doing business. During a fruitful first meeting end of 2021, mutual trust and interest grew rapidly. With professional support of Torbjörn Hermansson and Martin Strandell of Svensk FöretagsFörmedling and Marjolein Lucassen of Ter Braak Willems Notarissen, both parties soon reached agreement and the deal was worked out accordingly.
History of Bolk started in 1934 with the founding of Looms & Bolk company that carried the transport for dring and coal trade run by the two families. Over the year, Bolk developed into a company with a wide range of activities and customers. The Swedish counterpart, Uddevalla Specialtransporter was started in 1987 by Stefan Svanberg.
The company is engaged in moving wind farm equipment in Sweden and have recently invested in a fleet of Faymonville WingMAX flatbeds enabling them to transport very long wind blades.

Recently the company also invested in a new 3+7 CombiMAX vehicle, which will enable the company to also transport the tower segments to the different wind farms. The combination is extendable what allows a maximum flexibility for different lengths of these items.
The included PA-X technology – the low pendle-axle by Faymonville – enables Uddevalla to get a very low driving height and the common advantages with a 600 mm stroke and a 60° steering angle at the same time.
