On 12 March 2025, Cadeler held a naming for Wind Pace, its seventh offshore wind installation vessel
Wind Pace was named at the COSCO shipyard in Qidong, China and is the company’s second P-class vessel.
Like sister vessel Wind Peak, the ship is designed to handle the increasing size, scope and complexity of next-generation windfarm projects.
Wind Pace has already been assigned to a number of offshore wind projects and, directly after delivery, will set sail for its first project, in American waters.
Wind Peak and Wind Pace have 5,600 m2 of deck space, a payload of in excess of 17,600 tonnes and main crane with a capacity of in excess of 2,600 tonnes at 46 m.
The new vessels will be able to transport and install seven complete 15-MW turbine sets per load or five sets of 20+ MW turbines, reducing the number of trips needed for each project, accelerating installation and reducing the carbon footprint associated with operations.
