Cadeler secures two new deals

Must read

Shipping line Cadeler, which operates wind installation ships, lands two new deals, one with Vestas, the other with an unnamed customer.

Danish carrier Cadeler, which operates two of the largest vessels for wind installation, begins the year with signing two deals.

The first is a new contract with wind turbine manufacturer Vestas, which ”ensures optimal utilization of the O-class vessels up until the planned vessel upgrades commencing in Q4-2023,” writes Cadeler in a statement regarding the two deals.

For after the vessel upgrades, Cadeler has landed a deal with an unnamed customer regarding ”transport and installation of next generation wind turbines (WTGs).”

The deal has a provisional contract value of more than EUR 45m, informs Cadeler.

To WPO, Chief Executive Mikkel Gleerup has described 2022 as a year that will be ”super busy,” expecting significant growth on the market for wind carriers.

”Things are moving really fast. Whereas there used to be this cyclical effect in the industry, it’s been very difficult to see when it plateaus or goes down. And we’re looking very far ahead,” said Gleerup to WPO back in December.
