Canada’s Ocean Supercluster has announced the $6.3 million OCEANIC Project, led by Montreal-based Humanitas Solutions Inc., to develop an AI-powered digital twin platform that enhances ship navigation, fleet maintenance, and operational efficiency. Using HyperXspace technology, the project will provide a safe, hyper-realistic simulation environment for testing autonomous navigation, predictive maintenance, and advanced communications. Supported by a $3.1 million investment from the Ocean Supercluster and partner contributions, the initiative will create over 200 high-tech jobs, strengthen Canada’s maritime AI cluster, and position the country as a leader in autonomous and green shipping solutions under its Ambition 2035 strategy.
