Gazprom says it has signed anAgreement ofCooperation with RusChemAlliance and Gazprom Linde Engineering. The document envisages joint elaboration ofpotential options for expanding the Complex for LNG production, storage and shipment which isbased near the Portovaya compressor station.

The current capacity ofthe Complex is1.5 million tons ofLNG per year; start-up & commissioning operations are underway atthe facility. The parties will explore the possibility ofbuilding anadditional production train with acapacity ofupto2million tons ofLNG per year using domestic technologies and equipment.

Gazprom Helium Service signed three cooperation agreements: with the Government ofthe Astrakhan Region, with Research & Production Association Geliymash (Moscow), and with ContainerRemService (Togliatti, Samara Region).

The company will cooperate with the Astrakhan Region inthe implementation ofaconstruction project for asmall-scale LNG complex inthe Lotus special economic zone. The complex isexpected toserve mainly motor vehicles, waterborne transport, and specialized machinery. Inthe long run, LNG might beused for off-grid gas supplies toconsumers inthe region.

Under the agreement with RPA Geliymash, the parties will look into the possibility ofusing the facilities ofGeliymash toorganize batch production ofspecial thermally-insulated containers for transporting liquid helium atthe temperature ofminus 269 degrees Celsius.

The agreement signed with ContainerRemService provides for the parties todetermine the conditions onwhich tank containers for the transportation and temporary storage ofliquefied petroleum gases (LPG) will besupplied toGazprom. ContainerRemService has manufactured aprototype ofsuch acontainer for Gazprom Helium Service. Inthe nearest time, the manufacturer will start testing the prototype.

The prospects of LNG-powered shipping and other alternative fuels will be in the focus of experts and market players at the 6thconference “LNG Fleet, LNG Bunkering and Alternatives” which is to be held by PortNews Media Groupon 2 November 2022 in Moscow. The work on the programme is underway – proposals and suggestions are welcome.Visit the Conferencepage
