Carbon Ridge Wins SHIPPINGInsight 2025 Innovation Award for Unique and Pragmatic Onboard Carbon Capture System
Houston, TX – October 24, 2025 – The prestigious SHIPPINGInsight Innovation Award for 2025 was presented to Anastasija Kuprijanova , Director of Business Development of Carbon Ridge on October 15th at the 14th SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization & Innovation Conference.
Carbon Ridge has developed a modular onboard carbon capture system designed specifically with maritime shipping in mind. It represents a major step forward in the industry’s resilient journey forward. Anastasija was one of six new technologies presenting to a panel of investor and shipowner “Sharks” at SHIPPINGInsight’s annual US conference, held this year in for the first time in Houston TX this year.
“Innovation is the foundation of shipping’s transformation, and Carbon Ridge presented the new generation of technology that will bring our industry closer to a sustainable future. Their realistic approach to carbon capture shows the ingenuity and determination that shape and define the next generation of maritime,” stated SHIPPINGInsight’s Chief Evolution Officer Carleen Lyden Walker.
Each year, the award is given to recognize new technologies (“Chum”) who have achieved success in creating and executing an innovative initiative that pushes the boundaries of ship and fleet optimization objectives. The winner is chosen by the “Sharks” through their “investment” in the various technologies presented in the SHARK TANK. Carbon Ridge received $20million in “investment” followed by Robot Toolworx at $16million.
This year’s judges (“Sharks”) included Shark Wrangler, Darren Shelton of Moran Shipping Agencies, TMV’s Marina Hadjipateras and Josh Gold, MTI Network’s Jonathan Chia, Kenji Togasaki of IINO Lines, Capt. Matt Glass of the Houston Pilots, and ABS’ Derek Novak.
