Carnival Jubilee sailed backwards, for safety, on its Ems River conveyance, guided by two tugs and Emden pilots
The first Carnival Cruise Line ship built in Germany, Carnival Jubilee completed its Ems River conveyance from Meyer Werft to the sea.
It transited from Meyer’s inland location at Papenburg, Germany through the river and its locks toEemshaven, Netherlands, on the North Sea. Sailing backwards for safety, the shipdeparted early Monday morning guided by two tugs and the Pilot Brotherhood of Emden, and arrivedat Eemshaven early Tuesday.
Sea trials start Nov. 5
Carnival Jubilee’s first round of sea trials are set to begin Nov. 5.
Meanwhile, outfitting work continues.
Carnival Jubilee’s first revenue cruise from the Port of Galveston is scheduled for Dec. 23. The ship will operate weeklong sailings to Cozumel, Costa Maya and Roatán’s Mahogany Bay.
