Caterpillar has signed a deal with P&O Maritime Logistics (POML) to increase vessel uptime and improve operational performance and efficiency.
The global value agreement, effective from October, includes fleet management service, maintenance planning, and connectivity coverage for 90 vessels in POML’s fleet.

Each vessel will be digitally connected with Cat Remote Fleet Vision which provides both parties with data trends and alerts, helping prevent failures.
“This agreement supports both Caterpillar and P&O Maritime Logistics’ vision for value-added marine services through innovative solutions and technology supported operations,” commented Brad Johnson, vice president of Caterpillar Marine.
Under this agreement, operations for POML are matched with Caterpillar’s global dealer network which provides tailored services to meet each company’s operational needs. “We will work closely with their team on improvement projects and potentially on the use of new fuels and technologies,” added Mr Johnson.
