Celebrity Beyond arrived in the New York area today, making its North American debut.
For the sail into Bayonne, New Jersey’s Cape Liberty, Capt. Kate McCue was on the bridge, along with Capt. Dimitris Kafetzis, who completed the ship’s trans-Atlantic crossing.
Celebrity Cruises’ third Edge-class vessel has been operatingin Europe since its April delivery and will make its inaugural US cruise Oct. 26 from Bayonne to Fort Lauderdale. The nine-night southern Caribbean sailingwill visit Bermuda, Curaçao and Aruba.
Nov. 4 naming at Port Everglades
Celebrity Beyond is then scheduled to be named by Olympic gymnast Simone Biles at festivities Nov. 4 at Port Everglades.
After that the ship will offera variety of seven-night Caribbean cruises to destinations including Puerto Plata, St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and the Bahamas, Mexico and Grand Cayman.

New spaces include a terraced, Moroccan-inspired Sunset Bar by Nate Berkus, Daniel Boulud’s first restaurant at sea, a new two-story Retreat Sun Deck by Kelly Hoppenand the first AquaClass Sky Suites.
There are 179 additional staterooms.
