The Board of Directors of the Florida Ports Council (FPC) elected Michael Meekins, Executive Director of Port of Palm Beach, as its chairman for the 2025-2027 term.

Joining Meekins in leadership positions are Hydi Webb, President and CEO of PortMiami, who was re-elected vice chair, and David Wirth, Business Facilities Planning Manager for Port St. Pete, who was chosen as secretary and treasurer.

“It is an honor to receive the trust of port directors from across the state, who have entrusted me with the task of serving and representing Florida’s 16 seaports. Florida’s seaports play a vital role in the state’s economic development and are a critical part of our supply chain to ensure that Floridians have the food, fuel, and medical supplies they so desperately need,” said Michael Meekins.

Meekins was appointed Executive Director of Port of Palm Beach in 2023. His professional career is filled with experience in logistics leadership, including his position as Director of Business Development for Port of Palm Beach before being promoted to Executive Director.

Other responsibilities include his tenure as senior director of Cruise and Port Operations for Port Canaveral, his position as senior vice president of Operations in the aviation industry, and his role as project manager at the New York Power Authority.
